Leverage your advanced physics expertise and programming mastery to train next-generation artificial intelligence models through Turing's rigorous SciCode initiative.
Artificial intelligence has evolved past basic conversational generation; frontier models are now required to reason through complex mathematical proofs, physics simulations, and advanced computational algorithms. However, before an AI system can reliably solve graduate-level physics challenges, it must learn from scientists and researchers who understand the fundamental mechanics of the natural world.
Turing is building one of the most sophisticated STEM AI training datasets in the industry. Through the flagship SciCode project, Turing is engaging elite physicists and computational researchers to author, implement, and review complex scientific coding benchmarks designed to test and refine frontier AI reasoning capabilities.
About Turing and the SciCode Vision
Turing stands at the forefront of AI talent matching and data infrastructure. By connecting world-class domain experts with cutting-edge artificial intelligence labs, Turing ensures that machine learning models are trained on authentic, human-verified data rather than synthetic noise.
The SciCode initiative focuses on creating rigorous scientific coding tasks. As a SciCode Trainer, your work directly impacts how foundation models interpret physical laws, execute numerical simulations, and maintain scientific rigor across multiple LLM evaluation frameworks (including GPT, Gemini, and Nemotron).
What Your Day-to-Day Looks Like
As a Scientific Coding Trainer specializing in Physics and Python, your daily responsibilities blend academic research rigor with software engineering best practices. You will not be performing mundane data entry; instead, you will operate as a curriculum architect and evaluator for artificial intelligence agents.
- Problem Specification Authoring: Writing comprehensive scientific problem statements consisting of one main problem paired with a minimum of three logically connected sub-problems that progressively build toward the final solution.
- Golden Solution Implementation: Developing verified, robust solutions in Python with complete unit test coverage using libraries like NumPy, SciPy, SymPy, or domain-specific scientific tools.
- Discriminative Test Design: Crafting edge cases and rigorous test suites that clearly differentiate correct model outputs from flawed reasoning.
- Quality Control Validation: Executing QC checks on the Turing Central Task Platform (CTP), passing Tier 1 structure checks and adhering to strict Tier 2 quality rubrics.
- Iterative Calibration: Refining tasks based on automated and peer feedback to meet strict Pass@K evaluation criteria across major LLM judges.
You Are a Perfect Fit If:
This engagement is tailored specifically for accomplished researchers, academics, and technical professionals who possess deep domain expertise in the physical sciences combined with fluent programming capabilities.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Academic Background: Master's or PhD in Physics (or graduated physics background with demonstrable research experience).
- Programming Mastery: Strong Python programming skills with extensive experience in scientific computing and numerical analysis.
- Scientific Writing: Ability to author rigorous, well-posed scientific problems with unambiguous constraints, variables, and expected outputs.
- Technical Libraries: Demonstrated proficiency with NumPy, SciPy, SymPy, or specialized computational physics libraries.
- Track Record: Published research papers, conference proceedings, or advanced academic project experience within a STEM domain.
Perks of Working with Turing
Contracting with Turing offers unique professional advantages for researchers looking to expand their footprint in artificial intelligence:
- Global Remote Autonomy: Work flexibly from approved international locations (including Brazil, Colombia, Egypt, India, Pakistan, Indonesia, Turkey, Vietnam, and more) without sacrificing high-tier compensation.
- Cutting-Edge Exposure: Gain firsthand insight into how frontier AI models are evaluated, tested, and fine-tuned.
- Professional Collaboration: Participate in sync calls, review sessions, and daily standups with top global STEM talent.
Interview Process and Securing Long-Term Stability
Turing maintains high standards to protect the integrity of its AI datasets. The onboarding process includes comprehensive evaluations of your physics problem-solving capabilities and Python proficiency.
Once selected, it is critical to complete your onboarding swiftly and commit to completing your initial 10 hours of work. Meeting this milestone early ensures engagement stability, validates your workflow compatibility on the platform, and unlocks access to advanced, higher-tier tasks and project extensions.
