Core Responsibilities of the STEM Expert

As an AI Safety Expert at Mercor, your primary objective is to make advanced frontier models safer, more accurate, and scientifically reliable. You will work directly with top-tier AI labs on specialized tasks:

• Advanced Prompt Engineering: Draft expert-level, intricate technical prompts in Turkish across highly specialized scientific disciplines including chemistry, molecular biology, and physics.
• Scientific Accuracy Auditing: Evaluate, grade, and annotate model-generated responses to ensure absolute factual correctness and rigorous handling of sensitive technical information.
• Dual-Use Classification: Apply structured evaluation guidelines to flag adversarial phrasings, biological/chemical risks, and safety escalation paths.

Candidate Qualifications & Requirements

To maintain exceptional data quality standards, Mercor requires applicants to meet specific criteria:

• Academic Credentials: A PhD (completed or currently in progress) in chemistry, biology, or a closely related scientific field.
• Linguistic Fluency: Native or near-native fluency in Turkish, alongside business-level written and verbal proficiency in English.
• Technical Subfield Depth: Familiarity with modern laboratory and computational techniques—such as organic/inorganic synthesis, microbiology, virology, radiochemistry, or energetic materials.

Compensation and Commission Benefits

Independent contractors working with Mercor benefit from transparent, weekly payouts processed seamlessly via Stripe or Wise.
